Dr. Gina Anderson is a learning scientist, keynote speaker, TEDx speaker, author, and CEO and co-founder of Luma Brighter Learning and Ripples of Sunshine. For more than 25 years, she has studied how people learn, connect, grow, and change behavior, transforming the science of learning into practical strategies that organizations and leaders can put into action.

Since 2023, Dr. Anderson has delivered keynotes and presentations for organizations and industry audiences on learning science, workforce engagement, leadership, safety culture, human connection, and behavior change. Her speaking combines research, storytelling, and real-world experience to challenge audiences to think differently about how people learn and what helps them thrive. Her TEDx talk, The power of being present, explores the power of small learning experiences and meaningful human connection to create lasting change. Her work extends beyond the stage through her books, research, podcasts, and leadership of Luma Brighter Learning.

As CEO and co-founder of Luma Brighter Learning and Ripples of Sunshine, Dr. Anderson leads an award-winning learning technology company focused on improving safety, compliance, engagement, and workforce performance. As a 4X fastest growing private INC 5000 company, her work applies principles from learning science, psychology, adult learning, and behavior change to help organizations create learning experiences designed around how people actually learn.

Her career includes the development of the Luma eNugget® approach and other learning technologies that use data, interaction, feedback, and individualized learning experiences to better understand and support adult learners. Dr. Anderson is an Inc. Magazine learning thought leader for learning science and the author and co-author of multiple books, including Powered by People: Building Culture That Outlasts the Founder: A Transportation Leadership Playbook for Values, Trust, and Legacy, with 100% of the proceeds donated to organizations that support future generations. Her other books include Thrive: How Learning Can Ignite a New Way Forward, Perspectives on Invisible Illnesses, and Teaching Without a Teaching Degree: Luma Learning Lessons.

Education & Background

Dr. Anderson earned her Doctor of Education in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University, with additional study in learning science, learning technologies, and media. She also holds a Master of Science in Education in instructional technology and a Bachelor of Science in Education with high distinction from the University of Dayton.

Before becoming an entrepreneur and learning scientist, she was an educator and a Division I Academic All-American tennis athlete and coach, experiences that continue to influence her perspective on learning, performance, resilience, coaching, and human potential.
